I. Caùch thaønh laäp caâu hoûi coù ñoäng töø To Be:
* Ta ñem ñoäng töø To Be: am/ is/ are ra ñaët tröôùc
chuû töø.
Ex: It is a book.

 Is this Nam?
II. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “What is this/ that?”:
- Ta duøng caâu hoûi “What is this/ that?” ñeå hoûi veà
1 vaät hoaëc 1 ñoà vaät.
- Caâu traû lôøi ñöôïc baét ñaàu laø: It’s a/ an...........
- Maïo töø “a” ñöôïc duøng tröôùc moät danh töø.
- Maïo töø “a” bieán thaønh “an” khi caùc danh töø baét
ñaàu baèng moät trong caùc nguyeân aâm sau: a, e, i, o, u.
Ex: What is this?
 It’s a book.
What is that?
 It’s an eraser.
III. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “What are these/
those?”:
- Ta duøng caâu hoûi “What are these/ those?” ñeå hoûi
veà nhieàu vaät hoaëc ñoà vaät.
- Caâu traû lôøi ñöôïc baét ñaàu laø: They’re + N soá
nhieàu...........
- Danh töø soá nhieàu laø danh töø ñöôïc theâm “s”
vaøo taän cuøng.
- Tuy nhieân, ta phaûi theâm “es” khi caùc danh töø
coù chöõ caùi taän cuøng laø: ch, sh, x, s, o, z.
Ex: What are these?
 They’re books.
What are those?
 They’re couches.
IV. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “There is/ There
are.............”:
There is + a/ an + N (in singular).
There are + N (in plural).
* Khi muoán chuyeån caùc caâu treân sang caâu hoûi ta
ñem ñoäng töø To Be ra ñaàu caâu.
Ex: There is a book on the table.
Is there a book on the table?
Ex: There are twenty classrooms in the school.
Are there twenty classrooms in the school?

I. Caùc tính töø sôû höõu töông öùng caùc chuû töø:

II. Sôû höõu caùch thay cho tính töø sôû höõu:
- Ñeå dieãn taû söï sôû höõu, ta duøng daáu sôû höõu
caùch (‘s) ñeå thay theá cho nhöõng tính töø sôû höõu
khoâng coù ôû baûng treân.
- Thöôøng ta duøng sôû höõu caùch sau caùc teân
rieâng (chæ ngöôøi).
Ex: He is Tom’s father. ( OÂng aáy laø boá cuûa Tom).
Those are Lan’s books. ( Ñoù laø nhöõng quyeån saùch
cuûa Lan).
- Sôû höõu caùch chæ duøng cho danh töø chæ ngöôøi
(ñoâi khi laøcon vaät), khoâng ñöôïc duøng cho ñoà vaät.
- Muoán sôû höõu cho ñoà vaät, ta duøng “of” thay
theá cho daáu sôû höõu ‘s.
Ex: The leg of the table.( Chaân cuûa caùi baøn).
III. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “Who is this/ that?”:
- Ta duøng caâu hoûi “Who is this/ that?” ñeå hoûi veà
1 ngöôøi .
- Caâu traû lôøi ñöôïc baét ñaàu laø: This/ That is +
teân 1 ngöôøi (hoaëc pos.adj +N).
- Ñoâi khi caâu traû lôøi baét ñaàu laø: He/ She is +
teân 1 ngöôøi (hoaëc pos.adj +N).
Ex: Who is this?
 This is Van.
Who is that?
 He is his father.

II. Caùch thaønh laäp caâu phuû ñònh vaø nghi vaán coù
ñoäng töø To Be:
Affirmative: S + am/ is/ are..............
Negative: S + am/ is/ are not................
Interrogative: Am/ Is / Are + S............?
III. Ñoäng töø To Be trong caâu “How
many..............?”:
Form: S1: How many + N (in plural) + are there............?
S2: There is + a/ an + N (in singular).
There are + N (in plural).
Use: Hoûi/ ñaùp veà coù 1 hoaëc nhieàu ngöôøi hoaëc vaät.
Ex: How many classroom are there?
There are 24 classrooms.
Ex: How many books are there?
There is a/ one book.
